Naphtha (Light & Heavy Grades)

Naphtha

“The cracker’s choice: the prime petrochemical feedstock that builds everything from plastics to gasoline.” Arnico’s Naphtha is the light, volatile petroleum fraction that serves as the lifeblood of the petrochemical industry. As the optimal feedstock for steam crackers and catalytic reformers, our precisely specified light and heavy grades are engineered to maximize yields of ethylene, propylene, and high-octane aromatics. It’s the strategic raw material at the very beginning of the value chain, turning crude oil into the building blocks of modern life.
Description More

1. Product Introduction & Main Application

Arnico’s Naphtha is a light, clear, and highly volatile hydrocarbon fraction from crude oil, with a boiling range of 30°C to 200°C, supplied in two primary grades: Light and Heavy. This substance serves as the vital feedstock for olefin units (steam crackers) to produce ethylene, propylene, and butadiene, and as a feed for catalytic reformers to produce high-octane gasoline and aromatic compounds (BTX), forming the arterial flow of the petrochemical industry.

2. Technical Specifications

Technical Parameter Light Naphtha Grade Heavy Naphtha Grade Unit

3. Features & Benefits

  • Ideal Steam Cracker Feed: The light grade, with its high paraffin content, maximizes the yield of ethylene and propylene, reducing heavy by-product formation.

  • Excellent Reformer Feed: The heavy grade, with a balanced composition of naphthenes and aromatics, is ideal for producing high-octane gasoline and petrochemical BTX.

  • Ultra-Low Sulfur: Hydrotreated to prevent poisoning of expensive platinum-rhenium catalysts.

  • Consistent Chemical Composition: A precise PIONA analysis allows for accurate process simulation and yield prediction.

4. Industrial Applications

  • Petrochemicals & Olefins: The primary feed for steam crackers producing ethylene, propylene, and the polymer value chain.

  • Refineries & Fuel: Feed for catalytic reformers to produce high-octane gasoline blending components.

  • Solvent Production: A raw material for the production of industrial solvents and petroleum-based paints.

  • Chemical Industry: A feed for hydrogen and synthesis gas production in Steam Reforming units.

5. Safety & Handling

  • MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet): This substance is highly flammable and its vapors form explosive mixtures with air. Inhalation causes dizziness and neurological damage. The Arnico MSDS is mandatory.

  • Storage Conditions: Store in floating-roof tanks or nitrogen-pressurized tanks in a cool environment, completely away from sparks and static electricity. Earthing is mandatory.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): When handling, the use of a respirator with an organic vapor filter, Viton gloves, and anti-static clothing is mandatory.

6. Quality Assurance & COA

Arnico Naphtha shipments are accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA) with a detailed GC analysis including a full PIONA (Paraffin, Isoparaffin, Olefin, Naphthene, Aromatic) breakdown.

Technical documents for the product Naphtha including the Technical Data Sheet (TDS), Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), and Certificate of Analysis (COA), are available to customers upon request.
