Product Introduction & Main Application
Arnico’s Lube Cut refers to specific medium-to-heavy side-stream fractions drawn from a crude oil vacuum distillation tower. These cuts are selected for their viscosity range and high paraffinic content. They are the primary feedstocks for lubricant refineries, where they undergo solvent dewaxing and hydrofinishing to produce premium base oils (SN150, SN500) and co-products like Slack Wax and Petrolatum.

3. Features & Benefits
Optimized Wax Content: High paraffin wax concentration maximizes the yield of valuable Slack Wax and Paraffin Wax during the dewaxing stage.
Tailored Viscosity Fractions: Our Light Neutral and Heavy Neutral cuts allow refiners to precisely blend and synthesize lubricants from low-viscosity spindle oils to heavy industrial engine oils.
High Naphthenic Stability: Provides excellent solvency and oxidation stability properties to the finished base oil.
Flexible Supply: Arnico ensures consistent feedstock quality, allowing a refinery to standardize its production run and maximize Group I capacity.
4. Industrial Applications
Base Oil Manufacturing: The primary feedstock for producing Group I base stocks (SN150, SN350, SN500, and Bright Stock).
Wax Production: Feedstock for solvent dewaxing to produce Slack Wax, a precursor to fully refined paraffin wax used in candles and packaging.
Rubber Process Oils: Direct blending component for aromatic and paraffinic rubber extender oils.
Industrial Fuel Blending: Can be blended into cutter stock for heavy fuel oil viscosity adjustment.
5. Safety & Handling
MSDS: This product is a combustible liquid when heated. Full MSDS is available from Arnico.
Storage Conditions: Store in carbon steel tanks with nitrogen blanketing to prevent oxidation. Maintain handling temperatures at 60-80°C.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Prolonged skin contact can cause defatting and dermatitis. Use nitrile gloves and safety glasses.
6. Quality Assurance & COA
Every shipment of Arnico Lube Cut comes with a detailed COA including distillation curve (D1160), viscosity, pour point, and a full SARA analysis, enabling our clients to accurately predict their downstream extraction yields.
