Polypropylene Homopolymer (PPH - Injection & Fiber Grade)

PPH

“The rigid, high-strength PP: the hard, chemically resistant workhorse for automotive parts, fibers, and packaging.” Arnico’s Polypropylene Homopolymer (PPH) is the simplest, hardest, and most crystalline form of polypropylene, delivering the highest levels of stiffness, tensile strength, and heat resistance in the PP family. Its high isotactic structure makes it the essential material for tough, rigid automotive components like battery cases and bumpers, high-tenacity fibers and tapes for packaging, and durable, microwave-safe housewares. For applications where maximum rigidity and high-temperature performance are non-negotiable, our PPH is the material of choice.
Description More

1. Product Introduction & Main Application

Arnico’s Polypropylene Homopolymer (PPH) is the simplest and hardest type of polypropylene, made solely from propylene monomer with a high degree of crystalline order (isotactic). This grade, with its high tensile strength, stiffness, and chemical and thermal resistance, is the primary material for the production of injection-molded automotive parts (bumpers, battery cases), household appliances (vacuum cleaner and washing machine bodies), high-tenacity fibers, and packaging tapes.

2. Technical Specifications

3. Features & Benefits

  • The Highest Stiffness & Hardness: Excellent resistance to deformation under load, ideal for structural parts.

  • High Heat Resistance (Vicat > 152°C): Suitable for use in high-temperature applications, such as engine compartments.

  • Exceptional Chemical Resistance: Inert to most acids, bases, and solvents at room temperature.

  • Easy Processability (High MFI): Allows for the fast and easy injection of thin-walled parts with high dimensional accuracy.

4. Industrial Applications

  • Automotive Parts: Bumpers (unreinforced), battery cases, dashboards, and interior components.

  • Household Appliances: Vacuum cleaner bodies, washing machine drums, and microwave-safe containers.

  • Fibers & Tapes: Packaging strapping, woven sacks, and plastic ropes.

  • Furniture & Garden Items: Plastic chairs and tables.

5. Safety & Handling

  • MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet): The granules are non-toxic and safe. Hydrocarbon vapors are released at processing temperatures. The Arnico MSDS file must be obtained.

  • Storage Conditions: Store in 25kg bags in a dry, cool warehouse.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Gloves for handling hot granules.

6. Quality Assurance & COA

Arnico PPH shipments are accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing the precise MFI, tensile strength, and Vicat softening point.

Technical documents for the product PPH including the Technical Data Sheet (TDS), Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), and Certificate of Analysis (COA), are available to customers upon request.
