Melamine Crystal (High Purity 99.5%+)

Melamine Crystal

“The nitrogen-rich, heat-proof resin builder: from unbreakable tableware to durable decorative laminates.” Arnico’s Melamine Crystal is the high-purity, triazine monomer that creates some of the hardest, most chemically resistant thermosetting plastics in the world. As the essential coreactant with formaldehyde, it forms the melamine-formaldehyde (MF) resins that give us durable, dishwasher-safe tableware, and the scratch-proof, decorative surfaces on kitchen cabinets and laminate flooring. Our high-purity melamine ensures the perfect clarity and long-lasting performance of these essential everyday products.
Description More

1. Product Introduction & Main Application

Arnico’s Melamine Crystal is a white, nitrogen-rich (66%) powder produced from urea. This strategic chemical intermediate is primarily used for the production of Melamine-Formaldehyde (MF) resins, which, due to their exceptional hardness, clarity, and resistance to heat and water, are used in the production of melamine tableware, decorative laminates (cabinetry), woodworking adhesives, and protective coatings.

3. Features & Benefits

  • Unmatched Hardness & Heat Resistance: A very dense, three-dimensional MF resin network creates a scratch-proof, high-temperature-resistant surface.

  • Excellent Clarity & Colorlessness (High Purity Grade): Produces laminates and tableware with water-like clarity and no discoloration.

  • Chemical & Water Resistance: High tolerance to household solvents, moisture, and chemicals.

  • A Rich Nitrogen Source: Used as a flame retardant in polyurethanes and as a slow-release fertilizer (with a coating).

4. Industrial Applications

  • Tableware & Household Goods: The production of unbreakable melamine plates, cups, and bowls.

  • Wood & Decoration Industry: Decorative laminates for cabinet facing, flooring, and fiberboard.

  • Adhesives & Coatings: Boiling-water-resistant adhesives and baking enamels.

  • Flame Retardants: An additive in polyurethane foams and resins.

5. Safety & Handling

  • MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet): This substance is non-toxic, but its dust is a mechanical irritant. The Arnico MSDS file is available.

  • Storage Conditions: Store in multi-layer bags in a dry and cool warehouse, away from moisture and oxidizing materials.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): When decanting the powder, the use of a P2 (N95) mask and safety goggles is recommended.

6. Quality Assurance & COA

Arnico Melamine shipments are accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing the purity percentage and color in a formalin solution.

Technical documents for the product Melamine Crystal including the Technical Data Sheet (TDS), Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), and Certificate of Analysis (COA), are available to customers upon request.
