1. Product Introduction & Main Application
Arnico’s Medium-Density Polyethylene (MDPE) is a thermoplastic with a medium density (0.926-0.940 g/cm³), possessing properties between HDPE and LDPE. This material is produced from the copolymerization of ethylene with alpha-olefins and, due to its ideal balance of strength and flexibility, is primarily used in the production of municipal gas distribution pipes, cold water pipes, high-strength films, and blow-molded parts with high Environmental Stress Crack Resistance (ESCR).

Exceptionally High ESCR: Exceptional resistance to crack growth caused by environmental stresses, vital for gas distribution networks.
-
Impact Resistance & Flexibility: Does not become brittle at low temperatures, allowing for easier pipe installation.
-
Chemical & Corrosion Resistance: Inert to soil, moisture, and the conveyed gas.
-
Thermal Weldability: Creates homogeneous, leak-proof joints.
4. Industrial Applications
-
Gas Pipes & Fittings: Municipal and industrial gas distribution networks.
-
Water Pipes: Cold water plumbing pipes.
-
Packaging: High-strength and high-toughness films.
-
Blow-Molded Parts: Chemical bottles and fuel tanks.
5. Safety & Handling
-
MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet): The material is non-toxic and safe. Vapors are released at processing temperatures. The Arnico MSDS file must be obtained.
-
Storage Conditions: Store in 25kg bags in a dry, cool warehouse.
-
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Gloves for handling hot granules.
6. Quality Assurance & COA
Arnico MDPE shipments are accompanied by a complete Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing the MFI and ESCR values.
