Mazut M100

“Viscous, high-energy, and uncompromisingly powerful: the fuel that forges steel and lights nations.” Arnico’s Mazut M100 is the heavy, residual fuel oil that delivers vast quantities of thermal energy at a cost advantage unmatched by lighter fuels. It’s the strategic choice for firing cement kilns, powering thermal electricity plants, and driving marine engines on the world’s largest vessels. For industries whose foundation is high heat and heavy throughput, our M100 is the source of relentless power.
Description More

1. Product Introduction & Main Application

Arnico’s Heavy Fuel Oil (Mazut M100) is a heavy, viscous, black residual fuel oil obtained from the bottom of atmospheric and vacuum crude oil distillation columns, conforming to the Russian GOST 10585-75 standard. This high-energy, economical fuel is the primary energy source for large industrial furnaces, thermal steam power plants, industrial boilers, and large oceangoing ships.

2. Technical Specifications

Technical Parameter Standard M100 Grade (GOST) Low Sulfur M100 Grade Unit
Density at 20°C ≤ 1.015 ≤ 0.990 kg/m³
Viscosity at 80°C ≤ 118 ≤ 100 cSt
Total Sulfur ≤ 3.5 ≤ 1.0 %
Flash Point (Open Cup) ≥ 110 ≥ 120 °C
Pour Point ≤ +25 ≤ +20 °C
Ash Content ≤ 0.14 ≤ 0.10 %
Net Calorific Value (NCV) ≥ 39,800 ≥ 40,500 kJ/kg

3. Features & Benefits

  • High Calorific Value: Supplies massive and stable energy for metal smelting, foundry, and cement production furnaces.

  • Fully Competitive Price: The most economical option among liquid fuels for energy-intensive industries.

  • Low Sulfur Grade Available: Allows for use in regions with stricter environmental regulations by reducing SOx emissions.

  • Even Atomization & Combustion: After proper preheating, it creates a stable spray pattern in industrial burners.

4. Industrial Applications

  • Thermal Power Plants: Fuel for boilers to generate superheated steam and drive steam turbines.

  • Metal & Steel Industry: Fuel for blast furnaces, preheating furnaces, and foundries.

  • Cement & Lime Industry: The primary fuel for rotary kilns in clinker production.

  • Shipping: Bunker fuel for large, slow-speed ocean-going vessel engines (requires pre-treatment).

5. Safety & Handling

  • MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet): This material is not solid at ambient temperature but is highly viscous. At high temperatures, it releases toxic H₂S vapors. Prolonged skin contact causes severe irritation. The Arnico MSDS is mandatory.

  • Storage Conditions: Store in heated tanks equipped with heating coils and insulation, at a temperature of 40-60°C, to maintain pumpability. Water ingress into the tank must be strictly prevented (risk of violent boil-over and eruption).

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): When handling, the use of full heat-resistant clothing, leather gloves, goggles, and a face shield is essential.

6. Quality Assurance & COA

Arnico Mazut M100 shipments are accompanied by a complete Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing viscosity, density, and pour point.

Technical documents for the product Mazut M100 including the Technical Data Sheet (TDS), Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), and Certificate of Analysis (COA), are available to customers upon request.
