1. Product Introduction & Main Application

Arnico’s Ethylene is the simplest olefin (alkene), a colorless, flammable gas with a faint, sweet odor, recognized as the cornerstone of the modern petrochemical industry. Obtained from the thermal cracking of naphtha and ethane, this substance is the primary and irreplaceable raw material for the production of Polyethylene (PE), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC, via EDC), Ethylene Oxide (EO), and Monoethylene Glycol (MEG), making its production volume an indicator of a nation’s industrial development.

  • Ethylene Dichloride (EDC) Production: The main route to producing PVC.

  • Ethylene Oxide (EO) Production: The raw material for producing MEG and ethoxylates.

  • Agriculture: A hormone for the ripening of fruits (at very low concentrations).

5. Safety & Handling

  • MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet): This gas is extremely flammable and explosive. Inhalation causes asphyxiation and unconsciousness. The Arnico MSDS is vital.

  • Storage Conditions: Stored exclusively in high-pressure spherical tanks or cryogenic tanks at low temperatures, in an open environment, away from sparks and oxygen.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): The use of anti-static clothing, anti-spark shoes, and continuous gas monitoring systems is mandatory.

6. Quality Assurance & COA

Arnico Ethylene shipments are provided with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) with a precise GC analysis for purity and key impurities.
