1. Product Introduction & Main Application

Arnico’s Butene-1 is a linear alpha-olefin with a four-carbon chain and a double bond in the alpha position, supplied as a liquefied gas under pressure. This valuable monomer is primarily used as a comonomer in the production of High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) to create short-chain branches, thereby dramatically improving the mechanical properties of films and pipes.

5. Safety & Handling

  • MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet): This gas is highly flammable and forms explosive mixtures with air. Inhalation causes dizziness and asphyxiation. The Arnico MSDS file must be obtained.

  • Storage Conditions: Store in pressurized spherical tanks or cold storage tanks, in a cool, highly ventilated environment, away from sparks, heat, and oxidizers.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): The use of anti-static clothing, anti-spark shoes, and a suitable respirator is mandatory when handling.

Arnico Butene-1 shipments are accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA) with a precise Gas Chromatography analysis.
