Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP 18-46-0)

Di-Ammonium Phosphate

“The world’s most widely used phosphate fertilizer: the high-analysis granule that feeds the world’s staple crops.” Arnico’s Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) is the high-concentration, solid phosphate fertilizer that is the backbone of global food production. With the highest analysis of any solid fertilizer at 18-46-0, it delivers a powerful combination of nitrogen and highly available phosphorus directly to the root zone. Our uniform, hard granules are the essential starter fertilizer for the world’s most important crops—wheat, corn, and rice—driving vigorous root development and ensuring a bountiful harvest. For farmers and blenders, our DAP is the trusted standard for phosphate nutrition.
Description More

1. Product Introduction & Main Application

Arnico’s Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) is the world’s most widely used solid phosphate fertilizer, in the form of brownish granules, produced from the reaction of phosphoric acid with ammonia. With the highest concentration of nutrients (18% Nitrogen and 46% available Phosphorus), this fertilizer is the primary source of phosphorus for root development, flowering, and fruit formation in agricultural crops, and is applied as a basal dose at the time of planting.

2. Technical Specifications

Technical Parameter Standard Agricultural Grade (18-46-0) Premium Export Grade Unit

3. Features & Benefits

  • The Highest Phosphate Concentration: The most economical source of P₂O₅, reducing per-hectare transport and application costs.

  • Complete Phosphate Solubility: Rapidly available for root uptake due to its ammoniacal form and the ideal pH of the granule in the root zone.

  • Simultaneous Nitrogen Supply: Nitrogen is supplied in the ammoniacal form, which has lower volatilization losses than urea.

  • Compatibility with Other Fertilizers: The ability to be physically blended with potash and urea fertilizers to produce bulk blended NPK formulations.

4. Industrial Applications

  • Agriculture & Farming: The primary basal fertilizer for cultivating wheat, barley, corn, rice, and potatoes.

  • Horticulture: Used in tree planting pits for fruit trees and for feeding date palms.

  • Animal Feed Industry: A source of phosphorus in livestock and poultry dietary rations (Feed Grade).

  • Chemical Industry: A flame retardant in some formulations.

5. Safety & Handling

  • MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet): This substance is non-toxic and non-flammable. Its dust is an irritant. The Arnico MSDS file must be obtained.

  • Storage Conditions: Store in sealed bags, in a dry, cool warehouse, on pallets, away from moisture, rain, and direct sunlight.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): When decanting and spreading, the use of a P2 mask and gloves is recommended.

6. Quality Assurance & COA

Arnico DAP shipments are accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing the exact N and P₂O₅ percentages and particle size.
