1. Product Introduction & Main Application
Arnico’s Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) is a clear, colorless to pale yellow, oily liquid, produced by the alkylation of benzene with linear C10-C14 olefins. This strategic chemical intermediate is the exclusive raw material for sulfonation to produce Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulfonic Acid (LABSA), which serves as the primary, biodegradable active ingredient in all types of household and industrial detergents.

3. Features & Benefits
Excellent Biodegradability: Its linear structure is rapidly broken down by microorganisms in nature, making it an environmentally friendly choice.
Very Low Bromine Index: Indicates a minimal amount of unreacted olefins, which cause unwanted, odorous “free oil” in the final product.
Guaranteed Purity & Color: Produces a light-colored, high-quality LABSA, which is vital for formulating clear liquid detergents.
Chemical Stability: Resistant to oxidation and color change during long-term storage.
4. Industrial Applications
LABSA Production: The 100% raw material for producing sulfonic acid.
Household Detergents: The base for laundry powders, dishwashing liquids, and hand soaps.
Industrial Cleaners: Degreasers for car washes, and the textile and leather industries.
Industrial Oils: The Heavy Alkylate grade is used as electrical insulating oil and a lubricant base stock.
5. Safety & Handling
MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet): This material is a mild skin and eye irritant. Its vapors are flammable at high temperatures. The Arnico MSDS file is available.
Storage Conditions: Store in carbon steel tanks, sealed, at ambient temperature, and away from moisture, acids, and strong oxidizers.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): When working with large volumes, the use of gloves and safety goggles is recommended.
6. Quality Assurance & COA
Arnico LAB shipments are accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing the Bromine Index, non-sulfonatable matter, and carbon chain distribution.
