1. Product Introduction & Main Application

Arnico’s Sulfuric Acid is a strong, oily, colorless to dark brown, and highly corrosive mineral acid, supplied in concentrations of 98% and 93%. Called the “King of Chemicals,” it is the most widely used industrial chemical in the world, with its primary applications in the production of phosphate fertilizers, petroleum refining, metal extraction, and as the electrolyte in lead-acid batteries.

  • Battery Manufacturing: The main electrolyte in automotive lead-acid and UPS batteries.

  • Metal Extraction: Leaching of copper, uranium, and nickel ores.

5. Safety & Handling

  • MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet): This substance is severely corrosive and a strong oxidizer. Its dilution with water is intensely exothermic and dangerous (always add acid to water). Its SOx vapors are toxic. The Arnico MSDS is of vital importance.

  • Storage Conditions: Store in carbon steel or 316 stainless steel tanks, sealed, in a dry, cool environment, and away from organic materials, alkalis, and active metals (zinc, aluminum). An earthing system is mandatory.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Full PVC acid-resistant clothing, long gloves, boots, a face shield, and chemical goggles are required.

6. Quality Assurance & COA

Arnico Sulfuric Acid shipments are provided with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing the concentration and a heavy metal analysis.
