1. Product Introduction & Main Application
Arnico’s Ammonia is a colorless gas with a very sharp and pungent odor, supplied under pressure as a liquefied gas (Anhydrous Ammonia) or dissolved in water as a solution (Ammonium Hydroxide). This vital chemical substance is the world’s main source of nitrogen and the fundamental basis for the production of urea, ammonium nitrate, and DAP fertilizers. Due to its exceptional thermodynamic properties, it is also used as a refrigerant in large industrial refrigeration systems.

3. Features & Benefits
-
Highest Nitrogen Content (82%): The most economical source of nitrogen for the production of chemical fertilizers and nitric acid.
-
Natural & Green Refrigerant: Has an Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) of zero and a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of zero, making it ideal for ammonia-based refrigeration systems.
-
Excellent Exothermic Solubility in Water: Forms an ammonium hydroxide solution rapidly, which is used in water treatment and the chemical industry.
-
A Clean Hydrogen Carrier: Exhibits potential for use as a hydrogen carrier in the future energy economy.
4. Industrial Applications
-
Agriculture & Fertilizer: Direct injection into soil or the production of urea, ammonium nitrate, and ammonium sulfate fertilizers.
-
Industrial Refrigeration: The primary refrigerant in large cold stores, ice factories, and the dairy industry.
-
Chemical Industry: A raw material in the production of nitric acid, caprolactam, acrylonitrile, and industrial explosives.
-
Water Treatment: pH adjustment and acid neutralization in power plants and boiler feed water.
5. Safety & Handling
-
MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet): Ammonia gas is highly toxic, corrosive, and flammable. Its inhalation causes asphyxiation and severe lung damage. Its liquid form causes severe cryogenic burns. The Arnico MSDS is vital for safe handling.
-
Storage Conditions (Anhydrous): In special high-pressure cylinders or spherical tanks, in a cool, extremely well-ventilated environment, and away from oxidizers, acids, and halogens. (Solution): In sealed tanks at a temperature below 30°C.
-
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): The use of a full-face respirator with a specific ammonia (K) canister, cryogenic gloves, chemical-resistant clothing and boots, and a safety shower on site is mandatory.
6. Quality Assurance & COA
Arnico Ammonia shipments are accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing purity percentage, moisture, and oil content in line with international standards
