Description More

1. Product Introduction & Main Application

Arnico’s Paraffin Wax is a white, odorless, and semi-crystalline hydrocarbon wax obtained from the de-oiling and purification of paraffinic crude oil fractions. This versatile substance, with its excellent waterproofing, electrical insulation, and easy melt-and-mold properties, is the primary material used in candle production, food packaging coatings, crayons, and protective wood and metal waxes.

3. Features & Benefits

  • High Purity & Clarity (Fully Refined): Suitable for direct food contact (Food Grade) and for producing smoke-free, odorless candles.

  • Consistent Melting Behavior: A precise melting point and narrow congealing range guarantee easy molding and a smooth surface finish.

  • Excellent Moisture Barrier & Waterproofing: Creates a highly effective protective coating for cardboard, wood, and fruits, extending their useful life.

  • Superior Electrical Insulator: High volume resistivity makes it ideal for coating cables and electronic components.

4. Industrial Applications

  • Candle Manufacturing: The primary material in the production of decorative, scented, and church candles.

  • Food Packaging: A protective coating for cheese, citrus fruits, and confectionery wrappers.

  • Wood & Furniture Industry: Protective waxes and polishes for wooden surfaces and paper.

  • Rubber & Tire Industry: An anti-ozonant and protective agent against rubber cracking.

5. Safety & Handling

  • MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet): This substance is non-toxic and safe, but vapors from excessive heating can be irritating. The MSDS file is available from Arnico.

  • Storage Conditions: Store in bags or cartons in a dry, cool place (below 35°C), away from direct sunlight and strong oxidizing agents.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): When melting and casting, the use of heat-resistant gloves and safety goggles is recommended.
