1. Product Introduction & Main Application
Arnico’s Base Oil is a refined petroleum oil fraction used as the primary raw material (Base Stock) in the production of a vast array of automotive and industrial lubricants, greases, and engine oils. Supplied in API Group I, II, and III grades, this product dictates the final lubricant’s viscosity, oxidation stability, and viscosity index, playing a fundamental role in protecting engines and industrial machinery.

3. Features & Benefits
-
Excellent Oxidation & Thermal Stability: Group II base oils, with very low sulfur and high saturates, offer superior resistance to degradation at high temperatures, extending oil life.
-
Improved Viscosity Index: Less viscosity variation with temperature change ensures component protection during both cold starts and hot operation.
-
Additive Compatibility: Excellent solubility and responsiveness to various performance-enhancing additives (detergents, dispersants, anti-wear agents) for formulating modern engine oils.
-
Low Volatility: Reduces oil consumption and deposit formation in high-temperature engines.
4. Industrial Applications
-
Automotive Lubricant Production: The base fluid in the formulation of gasoline and diesel engine oils, gear oils, and hydraulic fluids.
-
Grease Manufacturing: The primary base for producing lithium, calcium, and complex greases for bearings.
-
Rubber & Plastics Industry: A process oil and plasticizer in tire and rubber component manufacturing.
-
Industrial Fluids: The raw material in the production of turbine oils, compressor oils, and heat transfer fluids.
5. Safety & Handling
-
MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet): Prolonged skin contact may cause dryness and irritation. Oil mist and vapors are irritants at high concentrations. The Arnico MSDS file is available.
-
Storage Conditions: Store in sealed, clean, and dry tanks at ambient temperature (10°C to 40°C), away from moisture, direct sunlight, and oxidizing agents. Water ingress must be strictly prevented.
-
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): The use of oil-resistant gloves and safety goggles is recommended during handling.
6. Quality Assurance & COA
All Arnico Base Oil shipments are accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing viscosity, viscosity index, and flash point.
