Granular & Micronized Sulphur

Sulphur

“The yellow element of life: feeding crops, vulcanizing tires, and driving the chemical industry.” Arnico’s high-purity Sulphur is the essential, multi-faceted element at the heart of industrial chemistry. Sourced as a by-product of gas sweetening and oil refining, our granular and micronized sulphur is the primary raw material for sulfuric acid, phosphate fertilizers, and the vulcanization of rubber. From increasing global food production to making tires durable and safe, our sulphur is an elemental link in the chain of modern life.
Description More

1. Product Introduction & Main Application

Arnico’s Sulphur is a solid, yellow, high-purity by-product from the sour gas sweetening and crude oil refining process. This versatile industrial mineral serves as the primary raw material for the production of sulfuric acid (the most important industrial chemical in the world), phosphate and sulfate chemical fertilizers, industrial explosives, and the vulcanization of vehicle tires.

3. Features & Benefits

  • Exceptionally High Purity (≥ 99.8%): Suitable for the production of high-quality sulfuric acid without carbon contamination or catalyst loss.

  • Uniform, Low-Dust Granules: Easy handling and transport, with no caking and minimal dust generation during loading and unloading.

  • Stable & Reliable Source: A by-product of refining processes, guaranteeing a continuous and reliable supply.

  • Diverse Application: From agricultural fertilizer production to the rubber and pharmaceutical industries.

4. Industrial Applications

  • Sulfuric Acid Production: The primary raw material (accounting for over 85% of global consumption) for producing sulfuric acid.

  • Agriculture & Fertilizer: The raw material for producing phosphate fertilizers (MAP/DAP), ammonium sulfate, and potassium sulfate.

  • Rubber & Tire Industry: The vulcanizing (curing) agent that gives rubber its strength and elasticity.

  • Chemical Industry: Production of carbon disulfide, liquid sulfur for dyes, and industrial explosives.

5. Safety & Handling

  • MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet): Solid sulfur is flammable, and its airborne dust has an explosion potential. The gas released from burning sulfur (SO₂) is highly toxic and suffocating. The MSDS file must be obtained from Arnico.

  • Storage Conditions: Store in covered, dry, and cool warehouses, away from sources of ignition, flames, and strong oxidizing agents like nitrates and chlorates.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): When decanting powder or granules, the use of an N95 dust mask, safety goggles, and gloves is mandatory.

6. Quality Assurance & COA

Arnico Sulphur shipments are accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing purity percentage, carbon, and moisture content
